Feedback in Veterinary MMIs

Feedback questions help assess whether you're ready to understand how constructive feedback influences professional growth and teamwork. You must show that you can recognise that feedback is not criticism, it is a structured tool to help improve your skills. Include that nurses and students all exchange key feedback to help refine clinical skills and prevent errors.

Good Feedback

• Feedback needs to be specific by focusing on clear behaviours, not vague comments.
• Feedback should be balanced and acknowledge strengths as well as areas to improve.
• Feedback should be timely and given soon after the situation has occurred, so it's meaningful.
• Be kind but honest, make sure you use a supportive tone but are still clear.
• Feedback should be solution oriented so that there are suggestions for improvement.

Receiving Feedback

• Make sure to stay open and reflective and not be defensive.
• Ask questions so that you can understand the feedback fully.
• Demonstrate that you are willing to adapt and improve.
• Recognise that feedback supports better patient care.
